High School Equivalency Test (HiSET)

South San Francisco Adult Education (SSFAE) offers an individualized, self-paced High School Equivalency Test (HiSET) preparation class, where students can take a Pre-HiSET test to help determine their readiness for the official test.

Like the more well-known General Educational Development (GED) exam, completion of the HiSET awards a high school equivalency diploma that is nationally recognized throughout the United States.

However, there are several differences between the two. The HiSET has five test sections, while the GED has four.

Meanwhile, testing centers only offer a computer version of the GED test, while the HiSET provides test takers with both a paper and a computer option that can be taken in either English or Spanish.

Contact South San Francisco Adult Education at 650-827-8455 for more information.
